Section A – Descriptive Type Questions (60 marks)
There are six questions in this part. Answer all questions.
1. Define health and community nutrition. Enumerate the major determinants
of community health. (5)
2. What are Non-Machine Medias? Give examples and explain any one method in
detail along with the points which you would keep in mind while preparing them. (10)
3. Explain any two folk approaches and two modern approaches you would use to
convey nutrition education messages in a community. Give reason. (10)
4. a) What suggestion would you advocate to an adolescent to promote
good eating habits. (5)
b) What points would you suggest to a lactating mother about
complementary feeding? (5)
5. a) Enumerate the process model for conveying messages to the target group. (5)
b) Enlist the individual and community strategies used in nutrition and health
education. Discuss the process and importance of individual strategies
only giving example. (10)
6. a) What all steps and factors you would include while organizing a nutrition and
health education programme in your community. (5+5)
b) Briefly explain how you would evaluate the nutrition education programme conducted.
Section B – Application Question (AQ) (40 marks)
1. Develop a leaflet (consisting two leafs) on ‘Aneamia’ highlighting its cause,
symptoms and preventive measures. Enlist the points you kept in mind while
preparing the leaflet.. (10)
2. Visit an anganwadi centre in your region. Conduct a survey of 10 pregnant/lactating
women enrolled at the anganwadi. Observe and record the healthy and faulty eating practices
related to maternal nutrition. Your answer should focus on diet/food provided
during pregnancy, foods avoided and meal frequency/pattern followed etc. (10)
3. Conduct a discussion within a community group on the effect of pollution on
air quality and human health. Based on the important points that emerges from
the discussion prepare an article for educational programme. (10)
4. Develop any two indoor games that can be used to educate people about the
various food groups and their sources. Prepare a prototype of the game. (10)
